Some Nutanix Updates and .NEXT

The most recent PiperJaffray survey (Q1 2015) named Nutanix the #1 converged infrastructure vendor for the second quarter in a row. And 41% of Nutanix partners were above plan as compared to 36% last quarter. Nutanix is now also now tied with Nimble for the Next-Gen vendor with whom partners are having the most success (followed by Pure).

Nutanix now has over 1,000 employees world-wide. This is up from exactly 160 two years ago, shortly after I joined. Back then, we had only one model of Nutanix appliance. Now we have over 17 NX appliances in addition to the XC models that Dell sells.

Three New Blog Posts  Today

Brian Suhr, a well-known VCDX at Ahead Technologies, published an excellent post today, Nutanix 4.1 Is About Transforming IT, Not Turning Knobs.

John Troyer, formerly the social media evangelist at VMware, published his TechReckoning newsletter this morning which starts off with a mention of my 10 Reasons Nutanix Leads the Hyper-converged Industry post on this blog site. By the way, if you don’t subscribe to TechReckoning, I highly recommend it.

And finally, Nutanix published an interview today with Steve Dowling, Director of Converged Infrastructure at $1.5B channel partner, Sirius Computer Solutions. Dowling provided some great points as to why he’s attending .NEXT: Nutanix User Conference in Miami in June. He also commented about our first partner conference last year, “I have 17 vendor partners that touch my line of business, so I’m required to go to a lot of these kind of events. The Nutanix event was the best partner event that I have ever attended.”

Here is an interview with Joris Vuffray of Swislos that talks about why they chose about Nutanix as well as Joris’ perspective on .NEXT, “I want to hear about all of the new features that will be in the next Nutanix releases as early as possible so that we can plan accordingly.”
