While, according to IDC (via SiliconANGLE), “Nutanix generated 52 percent of all global hyperconverged revenue during the first half of 2014”, many other legacy datacenter players and startups have introduced hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) offerings. The following is a list of all the known (to me) hyperconvergence players:
| Atlantis Computing | Atlantis HyperScale |
| Breqwatr | All-flash appliance |
| Cisco | Investment in Stratoscale. Selling arrangements with Maxta & Simplivity |
| Citrix | Sanbolic |
| Datacore | Datacore Hyper-Converged Virtual SAN |
| Dell | Dell XC (Nutanix OEM) & EVO:Rail |
| EMC | VSPEX Blue, ScaleIO & VxRack (VCE) |
| Fujitsu | EVO:RAIL |
| Gridstore | “Private cloud in a box” |
| HPE | StoreVirtual & EVO:Rail |
| Hitachi Data Systems | Unified Compute Platform 1000 for VMware EVO:Rail |
| HTBase | HTVCenter |
| Huawei | FusionCube |
| Idealstor | Idealstor IHS |
| IBM | Announced HCI Strategy |
| Lenovo | Nutanix OEM. EVO:Rail. Selling arrangements with StorMagic, Maxta and Simplivity |
| Maxta | “Hyper-Convergence for Open Stack” |
| NetApp | NetApp Integrated VMware EVO:RAIL Solution |
| NIMBOXX | “Hyperconverged Infrastructure Solutions” |
| NodeWeaver | NodeWeaver Appliance Series |
| Nutanix | Xtreme Computing Platform |
| Pivot3 | “Enterprise HCI All-Flash Appliance” |
| Pure Storage | Possible HCI solution coming |
| Rugged Cloud | HCI |
| Scale Computing | HC3 |
| SimpliVity | Omnicube (hardware-assisted SDS) |
| Sphere3D | V3 VDI |
| Springpath | “Independent IT Infrastructure” |
| Starwind | Starwind Hyper-Converged Platform |
| Stratoscale | “The Data Center Operating System” |
| StorMagic | SvSAN |
| Supermicro | EVO:RAIL |
| VMware | EVO: RAIL, VSAN, EVO: RACK |
| Yottabyte | yStor |
| ZeroStack | ZeroStack Cloud Platform |
HTBase is gaining a lot of momentum since you don’t need to acquire any hardware with it, a pure software, making it a lot easier for organizations to transition to a hyper converged model as well as cheaper. Plus HTVCenter has some very interesting capabilities.
Definitely worth a look

ANother one you might want to consider in that list: an open-source software solution https://www.openvstorage.com/

Wim, GeoScale is not looking like it includes compute to me which I wouldn’t count as hyperconverged.
